His work was just what we were looking for not stiff, posed pictures but pictures that really captured the feeling and emotion of the wedding and reception. We did a few formal shots and really that was the only time I remember seeing Patrick and his assistant at our wedding. Once we got the pictures back we knew he had captured something special. I am so awestruck by my photographer that I just had to tell you about him. My husband and I were married a month ago and if you want AMAZING pictures, you MUST call Patrick O'Brien. We were married during hurricane Ivan, the ceremony was in a church (thank God) but our reception was tented outdoors at our home so there wasn't really a "contingency plan". The day was wasn’t exactly perfect and the next morning I felt a little bummed because I wanted to show our guests a magical, romantic day and I felt that our reception didn’t have all of the magic we tried to achieve. Three weeks after our wedding Patrick called - the proofs were ready! When I looked at the pictures - I started to cry. The pictures made me forget about the wind blowing the tent down, having to surround the tent with cars and trucks so we could tie the tent to them to keep it from blowing away and the dessert table blowing over. He captured so many special moments that it made me realize we DID have a magical, romantic reception (I was just to stressed at the time to know it). I have had so many compliments on our pictures – and Patrick himself. He was very unobtrusive, never asked our guests to “pose” – he just captured the moments as they were happening. He was with us from the salon before the ceremony through the “after party. Oh – and make sure you get the DVD! He picks some of his favorites and puts them to music, done in a classy way (not cheesy like some others I’ve seen).
